Any further information required for credit verification, compliance/ethics checks, or customer due diligence;

We may collect Personal Information in various ways, such as: when you interact with one of our websites; when you enter into a transaction or contractual arrangement with us; when you register for services; when you make purchases via the website and/or app; when you provide feedback data; when you visit our offices or we visit you at your offices; when you contact our customers services; or in connection with your inquiries and communications with us. HOW PERSONAL INFORMATION IS SHARED WITH THIRD PARTIES

We may disclose Personal Information to third parties assisting us in carrying out a transaction or providing services for you (such as delivering purchases and information to you, clearing credit card transactions, or performing statistical analyses of our services). We may also disclose your Personal Information to our third party service providers who provide services such as website hosting, data analysis, payment processing, order fulfilment, information technology and related infrastructure provision, customer service, email delivery, auditing, HR services & payroll, and other services.

CRA INFORMATION NOTICE FOR NEW APPLICATIONS

In order to process your application, we will perform credit and identity checks on you with one or more credit reference agencies (“CRAs”). Where you take banking services from us we may also make periodic searches at CRAs to manage your account with us. 

To do this, we will supply your personal information to CRAs and they will give us information about you. This will include information from your credit application and about your financial situation and financial history. CRAs will supply to us both public (including the electoral register) and shared credit, financial situation and financial history information and fraud prevention information.

We will use this information to:

  • Assess your creditworthiness and whether you can afford to take the product;
  • Verify the accuracy of the data you have provided to us;
  • Prevent criminal activity, fraud and money laundering;
  • Manage your account(s);
  • Trace and recover debts; and
  • Ensure any offers provided to you are appropriate to your circumstances.

We will continue to exchange information about you with CRAs while you have a relationship with us. We will also inform the CRAs about your settled accounts. If you borrow and do not repay in full and on time, CRAs will record the outstanding debt. This information may be supplied to other organisations by CRAs. 

When CRAs receive a search from us they will place a search footprint on your credit file that may be seen by other lenders.

Plim works with TransUnion for offering credit services. The identities of the CRAs, their role also as fraud prevention agencies, the data they hold, the ways in which they use and share personal information, data retention periods and your data protection rights with the CRAs are explained in more detail at www.transunion.co.uk/crain.

We will not sell, trade, or disclose your Personal Information to third parties that want to market products to you.

OTHER USES AND DISCLOSURES

We may use or disclose Personal Information as we believe to be necessary or appropriate, especially when we have a legal obligation or legitimate interest to do so: (a) under applicable law, including laws outside your country of residence; (b) to comply with legal process; (c) to respond to requests from public and government authorities including public and government authorities outside your country of residence; (d) to enforce our terms and conditions or in response to activities that are unlawful or a violation of PLIM rules for use of the Website; (e) to protect our operations or those of any of our affiliates; (f) to protect our rights, privacy, safety or property, and/or that of our affiliates, you or others; and (g) to allow us to pursue available remedies or limit the damages that we may sustain. In addition, we have a legitimate interest to use, disclose or transfer your Personal Information to a third party in the event of any reorganization, merger, sale, joint venture, assignment, transfer or other disposition of all or any portion of our business, assets or stock (including in connection with any bankruptcy or similar proceedings). Such third parties may include, for example, an acquiring entity and its advisors.

Cookies are small bits of data cached in a user’s browser. We utilize cookies to determine whether or not you have visited the home page in the past. However, no other user information is gathered.

We may use non-personal “aggregated data” to enhance the operation of our website or analyze interest in the areas of our website.

MINORS

We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors under the age of 18. Minors are not permitted to use the Plim.co.uk website, App or services, and we request that minors under the age of 18 not submit any personal information to the website. Since information regarding minors under the age of 18 is not collected, we do not knowingly distribute personal information regarding minors under the age of 18.
